Simple actions

Simple actions

asbestos containing materials

The technique of simple actions is applied to non-friable asbestos-containing materials such as:

  • Asbestos cement pipes and corrugated roofing
  • Asbestos cords
  • Asbestos gaskets or seals
  • Asbestos cardboard

It is important that the structure of the material may not be modified (e.g. no crushing, grinding, drilling, etc.).

The materials must not contain any mounting system, such as nails, screws or glue. The asbestos-containing products (e.g. corrugated roofing) can be removed and packaged without the use of tools.

Employees who perform these actions are equipped a.o. with a full facial mask with forced air intake and P3 filter or a half mask with P3 filter. The asbestos-containing materials are sprinkled beforehand (if necessary also during the works) with a specially developed fluid in order not to disperse asbestos fibres in the open air. Thereafter, the asbestos-containing material will be disassembled in its entirety and removed in a specific packaging.

Another type of simple action is vacuuming a certain area where asbestos contamination has been established. This is done through special vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters and/or wet cloths.

During the works - depending on the risk analysis and work plans - air monitoring will be performed to ensure that the legal standard of asbestos fibres released in the air is not exceeded.
