In Brussels, Viabuild is working hard on the reconstruction of the City Centre Boulevards. This is a large-scale project that runs from Brouckèreplein to Fontainasplein via the Beurs and covers almost the entire Anspachlaan and its side streets.
Where cars used to be able to drive unobstructed from the North to the South Station, a pedestrian zone is now being created with trees, flower beds, kiosks and water features. A fountain will be installed in front of the stock exchange, and in the Brouckèreplein water features are being incorporated into the streetscape.

Both on the Brouckèreplein and on the Beursplein, Viabuild will be constructing watertight roofing over the two underground stations. The one on the Brouckèreplein has been completed, but not yet the one on the Beursplein.

A special feature of the design is that it incorporates no fewer than 35,000 m2 of blue limestone from end to end. Only the side streets will be paved with cobblestones and flat cobblestones.

The first part of the works are expected to be completed in mid-2019. The total duration of the work is 4 years.
