Annual training day 2019

For the seventh time Viabuild organised a training day for all its employees at the beginning of the new year.

In line with tradition, all Viabuild collaborators were expected to arrive on Campus De Nayer in Sint-Katelijne-Waver on the very early morning of 7 January for the annual training day. The program had something in store for all of us to become even better craftsmen and -women.

In a full-day programme, our employees learned everything there is to know about internal customer orientation. Our workers were once again taught the importance of “Safety always comes first” during a safety circuit. By analysing previous accidents, detecting risks in advance and then controlling them, we are able to reduce the number of accidents.

A refresher training on extinguishing techniques brought about a great spectacle.

Attention also went to ergonomics: recommended working postures and proper handling of loads can prevent many injuries.

We were shown how to sort waste correctly and were given the opportunity to discover hands on what a blind spot actually is when working near a crane or truck. During the “5S” module it was made clear how a well and orderly organised container can contribute to efficient execution of our work.

At the end of this enlightening day, we briefly looked ahead to Viabuild’s future and were shown the hidden acting talents of some of our colleagues. It goes without saying that a toast to the new – and safe – year was a must!
