Junior Lab assistant

Job description

As a junior lab assistant, you are responsible for carrying out measurements and conformity analyses (standards, percentages, …) – in the central office and on site – in relation to quality (biological, chemical or physical quality) of concrete materials and / or products by means of laboratory material.

• You take the necessary actions in the event of non-compliant products.
• You work according to the internal control systems and processes in the areas of hygiene, safety and environment, so that the measurement results are valid, reliable and standardized.
• You carefully carry out the analysis assignments and sampling, as instructed by your manager.
• You interpret, evaluate and register the internal and external analysis reports, in order to improve product quality and conformity.
• You actively participate in additional development by elaborating procedures and methods, in order to optimize existing products / methods and to develop new ones.
• You ensure that the laboratory material is functioning correctly.

In this position, you report to the Production Manager for concrete plants.

Profile

• You have a professional chemistry bachelor’s degree or an equivalent education (Environmental engineer, Biochemistry, Biology engineer).
• You are interested in the road construction sector and in laboratory work. You are flexible and assertive, you are driven and motivated and you like to take initiative within your position.
• You have strong analytical skills and like to work with figures. You know how to make swift connections between different types of data and how to continue to work with them.
• You like open and transparent communication and you have a good dose of persuasive power.
• You work accurately and in a structured manner and you are process-oriented.
• You dare to take responsibility.
• You are proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel).
