Technical Operations Manager

Job description

As Tehnical Operations Manager, you are responsible for the general management of the workshop (in Puurs and Perwez) and for guaranteeing the continuous operation of the rolling stock at the operational services.

  • You are responsible for the organisation, supervision and optimisation of the workshop’s operational activities.
  • You determine a budget and monitor it.
  • You ensure that the maintenance, repairs and checks of the rolling stock are carried out efficiently.
  • You ensure that the team offers a very good service with an eye for maximum customer satisfaction.
  • You ensure efficient planning and work distribution and optimal communication.
  • You supervise preventive and corrective maintenance operations.
  • You respect the standards of safety, hygiene and the environment and ensure that they are respected.
  • You coach and monitor employees.
  • You make proposals to optimise expenditure; you follow up on technical evolutions and innovations.

You report to the Director of Logistics and leads a team of 20 administrative and technical employees.

 

Profile

  • Industrial Engineer or senior technician, or similar technical and managerial competencies acquired through experience.
  • Technical and practical know-how in the field of workshop and workshop maintenance in a ‘heavy duty’ environment is required to perform the job – expertise may be acquired in a workshop, road construction, industrial facilities, …
  • You can demonstrate several years of successful experience gained in a (deputy) manager position having similar responsibilities.
  • You are highly motivated and have the right competencies and skills to fulfill the “technical” and “service-oriented” goals of your activities.
  • You are very good at organizing and are able to surpass the technical level and to share thoughts on the financial, commercial and human level’.
  • You have an “entrepreneurial” attitude which implies that you are determined to achieve results and to stand out in a highly competitive sector.
  • You are capable of working independently, but you are also driven by the desire to succeed as a team and to work together with the various operational managements / project leaders responsible for the follow-up of the Viabuild realizations.
  • You are business oriented, enterprising and have a strong technological insight.
  • You are very communicative (both in writing and orally). You have an excellent knowledge of both Dutch and French.
  • You are solution-focused, open and broad-minded.
  • You are customer and service oriented.
