In the proximity of the Brussels-North railway station and the Maximilian park, Viabuild renovated the pavements and garage entrances around a number of apartment buildings of the social housing company Lakense Haard. The works were part of the plans of the City of Brussels to invest in the smartening of a number of ‘problem areas’.

The existing footpaths in concrete tiles were removed and completely reconstructed. A layer of cast asphalt was applied on top of an asphalt substrate and was, at Viabuild’s suggestion, scattered with filter gravel. The finished result looks like a dolomite pavement, which matches the footpaths of the nearby park.
