The container terminal at the Delwaide docks, which play a key role in the port of Antwerp, was fully renovated and given a brand new asphalt surface. Viabuild Asfaltwerken was responsible for milling the existing surface and installing a new, high-quality mixture based on a modified binder.
In less than 2 months’ time, no fewer than 275,000 m² (to give you a better idea, that is more than 50 football pitches) of asphalted surface was milled and reinstalled. Viabuild’s own asphalt plant not only produced the new asphalt, but also processed the milling material, which was transported by ship and returned loaded.

As the terminal needed to be operational again as soon as possible, the time pressure for this project was particularly high. Thanks to the experienced Viabuild team and a flexible deployment of the necessary machines, the work was able to start quickly and be completed within a short, preset period of time.
